Bird Feeders

The boys wanted to make some bird feeders (even though it's summer and there is plenty of food around). So when we walked to the waterfall, we brought back some nice pinecones. We then covered them in PB and rolled them in bird seed. They boys had a blast doing it and getting messy!
Easton has since then made a bird house. I need to take some pictures of it and post too:)
P.S. I'm 1/2 way through my pregnancy, and I found out today, the baby LOVES salt and vinegar chips!!!

Waterfall and Haystacks

The other day ( June 2) we decided to go for a hike up to see this waterfall that is above the narrows. Easton insisted on taking his drawing book so he could draw his own picture of the waterfall.
The boys had a lot of fun and loved splashing in the water and exploring around on the cliffs. We also took all 3 of our dogs, who had a blast too!
It was a good time. After we got home a haystack fell on my dad and fractured his left hip. He ended up having to go to the U of U hospital on the 4th and have surgery. They put in a metal plate and 6 screws. He is home from the Hospital now but he can't put any weight on that leg for 10 weeks. We're so glad that he is okay.

May...

My birthday was on the 20th! As soon as Mason woke up he told me Happy Birthday. My mom's class sang to me, the Girls Choir sang, and my 7th hour sang to me too! When I got home from work my dad and Mason had decorated the house for me. Mason wanted my dad to draw Princess Peach to represent me... Justin made me my favorite dinner.. Pork Chops! They were soo good! My mom and the boys made and decorated my favorite cake Funfetti! I was so spoiled. Justin's gave me a new necklace, and he promised me to go get family picture done from lady from Wayne County! My parents gave me a Cricut that cuts Fondant! It's soo cool. I can't wait to try it out! Erik and Troylynn gave me a new watch that is super cute. ---- Mason has been being really careful with his cast, trying to keep it dry and clean. Well it's been raining here like crazy, so everything is muddy. Mason and Easton helped my dad fill the Pivot Tracks with rocks one day, and Mase decided to try to jump a huge ditch.. Well he ended up looking like this... Cast and All... I have a new niece! (: Sawyer was born on the 23rd and weighed 9lbs 3 oz. She is so beautiful! We were able to go to Tremonton for Memorial Weekend and see Sawyer and all the family. We had a great time!
Justin took the 4-wheeler and he and Bryan went riding-in the rain and mud! They had a great time. Meghan and I just laughed at how they were so giddy like little kids. They spent a lot of time in the backyard with their dad building a jump and filming each other! -----
On the way home from Tremonton we went to the Aquarium with Tiffiny and Trevor. The kids had a great time, and loved it! Easton was pretty scared of some of things, but Mason and Tacie were fascinated with everything!
The Jelly Fish are my favorite! I would love to have a room in my house full of these glowing! It's so relaxing!
Seahorses are sooo weird! We watched them for a long time too.
Lion Fish... Mason kept asking why they were soo sad looking. :(
Easton pulling weird faces! There were so many cool animals in this one!
Easton was most excited for the penguins. We watched them for a long time. We didn't get any good pictures of them, they swim way too fast! Easton and Mason decided to measure up to the penguins...
Of course my boys HAVE to have a new stuffed animal (: They get one at every animal thing we go to, it seems! Mason named his Gecko- Long Tonguey and Easton named his Turtle- Toga
On the way home, I had a Dr. Appointment. The boys were able to hear the baby's heartbeat. We scheduled the ultrasound to find out what it is for June 24th. Justin's Birthday! We are so excited, and I'm counting down the days!
---
Bryan has always called Mason "May May". Mason has told us he doesn't like it, so we told him he just need to let Bryan know. Well he finally did, and this is how his conversation went....
Mason-Bryan my name isn't May May it's Mason
Bryan- Oh well can't I call you May May anyways?
Mason- (trying to be nice) Well I guess, but it's just kinda weird!
He for sure lets you know what he thinks!

Grandma Kristie was holding Mason and asking if he was excited to go back to his house and see his chickens, and dogs, and sleep in his own bed. Mason turned to her and said, "Ya, and I'm excited to see my usual grandparents." He's just started using the word usual to describe everything!

SNAKES!!!

We've been finding Blow Snakes around our farm like crazy! Yesterday my brother went out into one of our inclose sheds to get a mattress from camping. My dad look inside it and found 2 snakes! Mason wanted to touch and hold them. Justin was brave enough to even touch them! I was so proud of him!!! :) We hauled these one's off, so they aren't tempted to eat our chicks or their eggs!

Mason's Story

Sunday evening as I was typing my last post, the boys were out playing in the yard. Easton came in yelling that Mason was hurt. Justin ran out and found that he had fallen off some huge rocks in our yard. He was complaining of his arm hurting. We cuddled with him, and held him, but he kept cry. Mason isn't one to just cry, especially over pain. I knew his arm was hurt, I just wasn't sure as to how bad. Grandma found a wrap and wrapped it for him and put it in a sling. That seemed to help. It did take a lot of convincing to get him to move his fingers or his arm at all. We put him to bed, and he went to sleep super fast. About an hour later, Justin took the wrap off and he woke up screaming. I tried to rock him, and get him to take some Tylenol. All he could do was scream! So we headed to the ER at 10:30 p.m....

I guess the good thing about going so late, is that there aren't many people there. They took us right back and did an X-Ray. He was being so brave. I could tell he was really in a lot of pain every time anyone touched his arm or he had to move it. All Mason kept saying was, "I really miss Easton. I wish he were here."

The X-Ray results came back and he fractured his arm, just above the wrist. The doctor commented to him Mason that it will probably "slow him down for a while." After the doctor left Mason turned to me and said, "Mom, that means I'm not going to be able to run as fast." :(

They put a temporary cast on his arm, and he will get a real cast next Tuesday. Here he is in the ER watching movies on the Ipod.
I ended up taking the next day off to stay home with him. We were super tired from not getting home until 2 in the morning. Mason slept late, then we took Easton to school, ran to my work to finish sub plans, and then came home and relaxed. I caught Mason running back and forth in the living room. I watched as he sat in the middle of the floor and huge tears ran down his cheeks. I asked what was wrong and he told me, "This does slow me down. I can't run as fast. :(" I tried to explain that she meant he couldn't do as much stuff, but he insists it affects his running.
Justin had his FFA banquet so after Easton got done at school we headed to Price. Mase was tired again, and was complaining of the light. He came up with this to help block out the light. Mason sporting his temporary cast.
Today he has been really down, and sad. He has figured out he can't drink out of a regular size cups because his one hand isn't big enough- he needs to use two hands, he can't unbutton and pull his pants down, he can't play the leapster or DS, and a lot of other things. He keeps asking me to take the cast off, but he can't. I sure feel bad for the little guy!
