Getting ready to head to church before we went to have Swayzie. We were getting a new Bishop so we decided to go to Sacrament Meeting. I wasn't scheduled for my C-Section until 7:00 p.m.
39 Weeks and 2 Days Pregnant!
On last picture as a family of 4.
I couldn't eat at all after 10:00 am, but when we got home from church and finished packing everyone was starving. I decided to take a nap while everyone was eating. I tried to sleep, but kept on having contractions. We headed to Provo so we could take my mom and the boys to the motel they were staying at. All through the canyon my contractions kept getting stronger, and they were consistently 10 minutes apart. Justin made the comment, "Aren't you glad that we aren't hurrying through the canyon to make it to the dr. because you're in labor?" That's when I told him I most likely was in labor :)
We dropped the boys off and headed to check in at the hospital. They were fast at getting me checked in and into a room. After they hooked me up to the monitors, the nurse asked if I knew I was in labor. I laughed and said yes! They then attempted to start my IV. Well since I hadn't had anything to eat or drink in 7 hours, they couldn't find any veins. They poked me 5 times before they finally call the anesthesiologist to come and do it. He got it on his first try. I had some huge bruises for weeks after from the nurses trying. After my IV was in and they started pumping me full of fluid I started to get the shakes. They were uncontrollable. Usually I'm the calm one in situations, and Justin is the one that gets nervous and anxious. Well for some reason I started to freak out. I kept thinking to myself, "I'm not ready to have her. I just want to keep her in one more day. Do you think they'll let me come back in the morning?" Justin was awesome and helped me calm down. Before I knew it they were in giving me my epidural and wheeling me to the OR.
I never even saw my Dr. through the entire surgery. I did hear him ask the student dr. if they were going to tie my tubes after the c-section. Luckily they corrected him on that one! Swayzie was born within 7 minutes of the Dr. walking in. She started to cry right off, and was MAD!!! Justin watched the entire surgery and was able to go with Swayzie to get cleaned off. They brought her back to show me and I got to see her for a few minutes. They then took her and Justin to the nursery and me to recovery. I ended up staying there for a long time and I didn't get to see Swayzie. I hated how they kept us apart while I was in recovery. Finally after about 1.5 hours they took me down to the maternity floor and I was able to see her. Soon after the boys came with my mom, Ann, Lexi and Trevor.
The next day we had some visitors. Grandpa and Grandma Thornley, Tiffiny, Kaylie, Tacie, Kyle, Treesha, Kimbery, Alicia, and Stephanie Roper all came to visit.
I ended up talking the Dr. into letting me go home after 40 hours, instead of the normal 48 hours minimum required for a c-section
The boys were such good helpers when we got home. Always wanting to help hold her, and make sure she had exactly what she needed.
Swayzie did not like her first bath!!!
On her first outing with Mom and Dad. We went and watched the High School play "Grease".
We went to Tremonton this year for thanksgiving. We had dinner at Tiffiny's house, and had an "ugly sweater" contest! Kyle ended up winning!
I made all the kids shirts to wear while we went to SLC for our family party:)
We took all the kids to build a bear and they had a blast!!
